# 1 feature from my standpoint is the platform it will run on is mac os x. you dont know how nice it will be to have a phone/pda/ipod that will not be run on some bootleg afterthought platform like wm5 (its just crap!)
#2 the voicemail option is amazing. no more waiting through messages, listen to the ones you need to when you want!
cant wait till june!

It's missing the minimum 20GB hard drive that would actually make it useful. I'm holding out until they graduate it up being a full fledge portable mac.
All they're missing is way to wirelessly sync to an external monitor and a way to charge it by induction. Then just hermetically seal the whole thing. You've got bluetooth to get your sound out and mouse/keyboard in. and now you have a virtually indestructible, water-proof, portable computer with no moving parts and no vulnerable holes for plugging things in...
Seriously why stop at a phone, portable internet and mediocre ipod with limited storage when they can take it all the way???

Jon, Jon, Jon... Can't we just bask in the apple-y goodness? :)
Those things would be cool, but seriously- I think8 gigs will do me for now. I think my first iPod was ten, and I couldn't call anyone on it.
This is the way job works. Incrementally. He'll have us buying the next version of his stuff for the rest of our lives...
Slowly, slowly, catchee monkey...

Man, I guess I better watch what comments I leave on this blog, with all the Apple zombies... :)
I agree that the hard drive space is rather limited. I never got into the Nano-type device. I like having my whole music collection at my finger tips.
I wasn't aware that Windows Mobile was crap. My PDA has functioned flawlessly for almost two years now. I think Windows Mobile is great.
I'm not so sure that Bill Gates is worried. Sure, Apple dominates the MP3 player market, and maybe they'll dominate the phone market. I don't think that will worry the person who has put operating systems and office productivity software on the overwhelming majority of the world's computers.

I do! The Zune was a big gamble for them.. they put a lot into it in terms of marketing and development. It hadn't been doing that well so far... and I think Apple just pulled the rug out from under them.

Well I can't confirm Bob's assertion that Bill Gates pooped his pants, but one of the members of my Bible study is in R&D at TMobile and his whole department pooped theirs... They know their stuff and they all seem pretty convinced that Apple and Cingular now own the market.
Really Bob... 8GB?? One you put OS X on it and all of your mobile office apps, you'll have room for what? 1000 songs. Sure it's better than nothing, but it seems far from worth the $600 price tag.
I know it's the way that Jobs works, but it doesn't seem like it was a complete thought. When the first gen iPODs came out, it was revolutionary because no one had thought to do it before.... the iphone is something that anyone could have done, Apple just beat them to it. I want to see some real innovation before I'll sign on... Show me a 50GB flash drive and 36hours of battery-life. That'll make me take real notice.

I hear you... they could easily put more flash mem in this... but that's the Apple way. Make you drool and make you keep drooling... a clear upgrade path.
Sigh... the real problem is that Steve Jobs owns me. He owns me like I was freshman girl and he's the QB of the varsity football team.
