What if... it all went right the FIRST time around? What if ministry/life/marriage/whatever was...
Easy?
What if there were no problems in your church community- no logistical issues, no people problems, everyone gave, everyone served... you "cast a vision" and people just sprang into action like a bunch of Disney™ animated birds, squirrels and other assorted small animals to accomplish your will?
Paradise?
Well...
I imagine it would feel that way for awhile.
And then... you'd probably realize it had been awhile since you'd actually learned anything- There are no lessons to be be learned when everything goes magically right.
You'd probably realize that while the lows of making mistakes were
gone, so were the highs of figuring things out and finally getting over
that hump.
The camaraderie and community built when people endure hardship and struggle together to problem solve and just work out differences? I guess that would be a thing of the past.
The feeling of actually accomplishing something? It might feel rare now, but imagine- if everything you did just "worked", while at first it might be thrilling, eventually all feeling of accomplishment would level out to a dull, gray and boring sameness. No high fives for making a basket when you never miss.
It's difficult to appreciate the hard parts in and of themselves, but when we put them next to good parts, the easy parts? Sometimes, it's the weeds that make the challenge of gardening just that- a challenge.
And we all say we want a challenge, right?
i
I think it is only because of pain and struggles that we can really experience the joy of things going right. Without the hard stuff we wouldn't really have a point of reference for all the good stuff. :)

Yeah. But honestly, when you are running and you hit the wall, wouldn't you rather be in a cakewalk?

Sure- but how would I know how cake I have it without the occasional wall?
All i'm sayin'...
:)
