Don't freak out, mom...
So- I'm at the gym yesterday, doing my normal routine. About 20 minutes on the elliptical, some upper body machines and then 15-20 min in the dry sauna. First thing I noticed when I walked into the sauna was that it seemed a bit hotter than usual. But nobody else seemed to mind, so...
I could only take about 15 minutes and went to hit the shower. Hung up my towel and shorts and started to cool down under the water.
That's when I realized there was a problem... I could tell I was going into shock.
The whole dizziness, tunnel-vision thing- not to mention I felt like I might puke any second. I leaned on the wall under the water and just tried to keep it together. After a few minutes of that, I sat down in the next shower stall over- the one with the bench for the old dudes.
Here's a good tip for you- don't have a heart attack or anything else potentially life threatening at the gym, or at least in the gym shower. No one will notice, much less ask if you need help. I'm assuming that if I had clothes on, there might have been an offer of help, but get in trouble wearing only a towel? Totally on your own, man.
I got back onto the bench and sat there for awhile, yawning uncontrollably, trying not to fall over sideways again.
After I got home and got appropriate sympathy from my spousal unit, the rest of the night was fine.
Well, until the extreme, intense shooting pain in my neck, that is.
Seems I pulled something. Can hardly move my neck. Took one of the muscle relaxers that Dustin gave me (yeah- he's my pusher), and that knocked me out pretty well- but doesn't seemed to have actually done anything for my neck.
Heading to an emergency chiro appointment in an hour, so we'll see what he can do to for me.
At least I have clothes on now.
(I wanted to do some good posting today- don't know if that will happen. Dagnabbit.)
