I have hope this morning- no not the messianic hope that President Obama will fix all that's wrong, but the hope of fresh starts and (somewhat) clean slates. The hope that with a new Administration will come a renewed sense of civic spirit and sacrifice and so the end of both selfish conservatism and selfish liberalism and with a more thoughtful President a waning of the mindlessly partisan varieties of both sides of the spectrum as well.
I love seeing the sense of destiny, the look of dreams and hopes realized in older African Americans, the sense of pride in younger Americans of all kinds who felt they had a hand in bringing change, that their voice really mattered this time.
It's a gift to be alive at the high points of history, not just the low ones, and today is one of those days.
I'll be praying for President Obama. I hope you will as well.
Well said Bob. Totally agree on the sense of a fresh start, a chance to start again.
