Take a guess... who's the most important person at this church?
I'm a husband, father, pastor and church planter
notice the wife's eyes, look rolled back in her head, or possessed. also, in my clicking around, found her picture as the only one for every woman's event too.
how do we as people just sit idly by while people like this around us go on such ego-trips? seems as if it's all the image being portrayed, not to mention the prosperity book the pastor wrote and mentions heavily, ie. the Osteen family "church"
my apologies if that appeared so cynical.

if i give more, do i get more?
apparently, if it's one of their seven values...
"3. God prospers all His children as they give tithes, offerings and work wisely."

I just sucked into looking at this entire web site and the photo album and everything out of curiosity. 15 minutes are now gone... look at what you did to me on a Saturday morning when I should be spending that time with my family. Bob, you will be punished for drawing me into that web site.

haha, I'm laughing at what Dan Kimball wrote b/c I did the same thing! I also couldn't help but notice that it said that Casey "birthed" the Christian Faith Center. birthed.
oh goodness.

What are the insecurities of Christians that drive them to idol worship like this? It reminds me of People magazine for the Christian set. :(

It seems to me like some here might be upset enough to actually write or call this brother with a word of reproof. If not, then may I ask what the point is of your time spent on this? In a way, one could see this thread as an ignoble exercise in 'infighting' among Jesus' bride.
Now, I understand that it (the reproof) would probably fall on deaf ears and be characterized as a 'waste of time'. What I'm not sure of is where the 'waste of time' begins...

And for those that question the value of this website, they provide a handy checklist that can solve all your spiritual quandaries!

I have no problems with websites; great designs; intuitive ways of using our technology to foster community. If anything, I dig what we can do to actually bridge people together through it all. Odd thing is the website almost makes it harder for me to want to know more about the church. So I figure the folks who want a church where it's about the staff are the ones who eventually find themselves drawn to personality over community... and that's okay with me, because they wouldn't want what we have either. I work in a small multi-cultural church as a youth pastor and quite honestly, we are pretty intentional about keeping everything low maintenance; we don't want people to know who the leaders are... we want them to be leaders. We want a different ethos than what for decades we have settled for as the only way to understand what community in Christ is about. So I really dig reading Bob what you have to think on stuff, because it just confirms for me what I've been thinking about for years and never really commented on with others before... tell me more.
