Of course, she was just "Mrs Fitz" to us then, not the well-known author writing books and getting posted on the Gospel Coalition website! Back then I was the budding 5 Point Calvinist and she my main theological sparring partner. Her example here is extremely mundane, and I doubt that I'd necessarily unpack things to this depth in the Grocery store, but it's a great rundown of how the Gospel can and should make a difference for us at some of the harder moments in life.
