I'm in Hillsboro, getting ready to meet with our worship pastor, Rich. We meet on Tuesdays to connect, debrief last week, think about next week...
Anyway, I think I need to get him a copy of Doug's new book, Body Prayer (I received an advance copy a couple of days ago.. can I just say that- Doug, you remain my hero for oh, so many reasons!).
In looking it over, it appears to be a fantastic resource not only for one's private devotional life, but for an entire community. Each chapter is a different type of prayer, with a short explanation, an actual prayer and a "prayer posture"- a way to stand or gesture to use as you pray this particular prayer that will help you experience it and say it and pray it in a more tactile way.
I could see us (or communities like us) making great use of this book, praying in many different ways, with many different stances.
I think it would be a good resource to get for those in your communities who help craft the experiential elements...
