Regarding Mark D's latest here...
A few thoughts.
Yes Mark.
We know you are upset.
And we know you are a guy with a side of guy.
And we know you have a really, really big church. You mention it all the time.
Even twice in this very blog entry!
Please reread the verse you quoted: 1 Peter 3:15... seriously.
Sometimes, cleverness is overrated.
A more coherent, Open Letter to Mark here
So they're going to let Driscoll be his crass old self in that entry, but in the margin, they have to change the title of Church Marketing Sucks to Church Marketing Stinks...

My God... which editor actually let that article go through. I'm shocked. Nice impression made on the reading world, I'm sure.

yo, Bob, you may want to update Starla's link. it'll pop up the password requirement, but it'd be pretty handy for me, anyway, with the keychain and all....

I dont understand how the size of his church has anything to do with the subject at all. A. that he mentions, and B. That we see it fit to point that out and not the content of his words. Yes, he came across pushy, and a little abusive perhaps. But his point he was trying to get across was incredibly valid. Since when did we as a church of Jesus Christ, a very controversial man, become ashamed to proclaim what the word of god says. It is very clear, that the bible says homosexuality is wrong and it is a sin.
As far as 1st peter 3:15-
depends on how you interpret it. But it is applicable in this situation. It is a call for believers to not be spechless when called to defend their faith. Faith, can be defined as a belief and trust in Jesus Christ, and essentially his doctrine.
John 1:1 "In the begginning was the word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
If our Faith is in God, Our faith can and should be found in the Word of God as well.
