This week: Stupid Pastoral Decisions

Okay- let's get them out there. What's the DUMBEST move you've ever seen a pastor make? And if you have to say "I had this friend who..." we'll all understand :)

Seriously- we all make boneheaded moves. But Pastors? Sometimes I think we get to be in a class all by ourselves, not only because often we work and make decisions in something of a vaccuum, but because of the importance of what we do and the resulting pressure we feel. And we don't even need to mention the tendency of succesful pastors towards Narcissictic Personality Disorder...

Some updates... 1. My conversation with Spencer got put off until next tuesday... I had not only a really bad head cold yesterday, but also a bad case of the mondays... So sorry if you were waiting for an update. I hope to finish Spencer's book by then as well. 2. Last week's theology pub was one of my all time favorites- it went well, good discussion, I got to tie in everything we've been studying these past few weeks in terms of Trinity, the divinity of Christ, the humanity of Christ and how they all work together with the mission of Christ... it was just good. Stephen should be very sorry he missed it as we actually looked up quite a number of passages in the Bible. 3. I'm just gobsmacked at the discussion over on Slice. 46+ comments later on a little throw-away article about me being named editor of Next Wave. These people continue to embody the Dilbertian ethic of "You may commence misunderstanding me and attacking that misunderstanding now!" 4. Speaking of Next Wave... you should check out some of the articles this month. Some pretty good stuff :) 5. Oh, and I'm ready to start on next...
