Spencer Burke, author of A Heretic's Guide to Eternity, and I are going to talk on the phone on Monday.
Let's say you had the chance to talk to Spencer (and you actually probably do. He seems to be talking to everyone!!), what would you ask Spencer? How would you word it?
Let me know in the comments below...
is it better to attract people to a Jesus and Gospel that might not exist but is very non-offensive?
or is it better to present Jesus as somewhat exclusive (horrible word) and allow the Holy Spirit to get his groove on?
probably could be worded better...

I'd ask if there's anything about the book that he thinks has been misunderstood (on the one hand) or that he wishes he'd said differently (on the other).

Ask him if he considers the idolaters in the Old Testament (both Israelite and foreign) to have been sincere followers of God.
That's always been my hangup with the inclusivist position. Most exclusivists point to the New Testament teachings on the exclusivity of Jesus, to which the response usually describes sincere followers of other religions as unknowingly following Jesus. But wouldn't that include sincere followers of Baal?

I would ask him to send me a copy of his book. He would just need to ship it to Johnny Brooks P.O. Box 15260 Nakuru 20100 Kenya

I'd ask Jesus who Spencer Burke was then I'd ask Spencer Burke who he is and see if I get any confirmation. If confirmed, then He maybe someone to read a book from, if not then I'd throw the book out the window.
Just provoking a more serious train of thought......
Charles Finney!! Now, there is someone worth reading from.
Who is Spencer Burke?
