I just got this email from Kelly Bean, an emerging church leader in the area about a women-only gathering she and others are putting together- you shoudl check it out if you are local:
"Hey there Bob
Deborah Loyd and I, (along w two other women) are sculpting the NW Emerging Women Leaders CONVERGENCE at Edgefield to be held the last weekend of January.
I know that Evergreen is supportive of women leading in the church and wanted to let you know about this opportunity to help encourage your own leaders.
We'd love to have some Evergreen women join in. I am sure they would have a lot to offer (as well as be encouraged). We intentionally have no keynote speakers. Instead we will share stories, make room for everyone to be heard and to share their experience, questions and perspective in various creative ways through the two days (Friday nite-Sunday noon)
Would you be willing to identify some women you see as leaders (there will be quite a range of types of leaders participating so the category is broad) at Evergreen and encourage them (or make it possible for them) to be part of Convergence?
Here's a link for registration...

I'm passing this on to some women in our community and I'd encourrage you to do the same...
I'm going to be attending this gathering and I'm really looking forward to it. My best friend Karlene is one of the women organizing the event. It sounds like I will be having a table at the event to sign people up for the ONE Campaign - so if any of you ladies attend, stop by and say hi!

I'm the other one facilitating the gathering: thanks for sharing the info! If anyone has questions, they can contact me through email, my personal site, or the contact form at the Convergence website. Looking forward to connecting with some Evergreeners!
