real quick- I'm going to try posting a lot while I'm here, and I'm going to try to avoid paying for wi-fi, so please bear with me if it's not exactly "live-blogging."
But real quick, before I forget...
I had dinner with Todd Hunter on Monday night. Todd is a an amazing guy who's done so much in his life- head of the Vineyard churches, church planter, mentor to church planters, head of Alpha...
The dinner was okay.
Here's the weird thing about my life right now. Because of my friendship with John Johnson at Western Seminary, I get to have the least interesting conversations with the most interesting people. Over the last year I've had dinner with not only Todd Hunter, but also Brian McLaren and Michael Frost...
And it always comes at the end of a day where they've been teaching a DMin course for 8 hours straight...
So yeah- always the same. Good mediterranean food, fascinating people, polite but ultimately un-noteworthy conversation.
It's the really weird dynamic in my life... I don't want to not have these dinners and take advantage of these opportunties, but I've had to radically dial back my expectations of what will happen in those conversations.
Bob, I'm sorry you get to talk to these guys when they're too tired to say much.
FYI we just posted a written interview with Todd Hunter.
