Rock on!
Funny thing about this... I'm right bewteen these guys on this. I think they both lean a little too far in their respective direction.
Ahh, the via media...

I'm a husband, father, pastor and church planter
It's like the whole eating meat offered up to idols thing. Give me a break. Just do the yoga if you want and worship God.
Not sure where Doug was going with this one.

Bob,
I felt the same way when I watched this last night.
And thank you so much for posting on the Jena 6.

From EG forum, January 2005: Bob says "it's weird how much better I can breathe in some of the starting positions... also weird how much evangelical guilt I have for doing yoga..."
Bob, are you still doing the downward dog?

Thanks for posting this, Bob. I posted it on my blog (I said I found it here :))
I think it's interesting that this is from Doug Pagitt's youtube account. That implies he was happy with his defense of yoga.
(Don't watch his other stuff on there, like getting stitches in his hand...ewwww, why did he post that?)
I would say, Doug's answer made it easy for John to say "What does that have to do with Christianity?" If representatives of Emergent Village want conservative Christians to take them at all seriously they do need to avoid all hint that they are promoting a Christianity based on self (imo).
Ummmm....I think I will post my other comments on my own blog in due course.

don't do yoga to the (minor) extent that I did... but I need to get back to it. It was good for me physically and it was good prayer time as well.
I'm going to post on this later- I do think it's wise to make at least a nod in the direction of boundaries when you talk about this stuff- maybe we should look at it as "serving" our fellow Christians by allaying some of their fears...

i find myself "in between" concerning most issues and when comparing myself to most christians, especially pastors, who seem to always lean too far one way or another to prove how smart they are.

Regardless of the CONTENT of what either of them said on this video... Is it just me, or do you get the sense that Doug was actually thinking about his response to the questions asked, while MadArthur was simply spouting memorized evangelical sound bytes...?
Again, it could just be my preconceived notions reading into it, but maybe not? Am I the only one that thought this?

WOW, talk about a Freudian slip...
That should read MAC-Arther, not MAD-Arthuer...
ha ha ha
