"Our publishing committee discussed your book proposal today, and unfortunately decided not to acquire it for publication. Everyone on the committee thought the writing was first rate and on an important topic. But at this stage in our development, XXXX XXXX is not well equipped to market books to church leaders, which is obviously the primary market for your book. I wish we were because I really wanted us to publish your book. But without a good marketing and sales plan in place to reach this market, we would be doing you a disservice by publishing your book and not giving it the marketing and sales support it deserves.
I think given the right publisher, you should have no trouble finding a home for your book. The obvious choices are Zondervan, Baker, and InterVarsity, but you might also consider Crossway, Moody, and B&H Publishing. Wherever your book lands, I fully expect it to do well and for its important message to be well received.
Warmly,

Erg. Ah, well.. anyone know anyone at Zondervan, Baker, InterVarsity, Crossway, Moody, or B&H Publishing?? :)

Bob,
I know the guys at Zondervan who are partnering with Leadership network for the innovator series.
Email my assistant Mike if I can be helpful. Would love to see your stuff out there.
